Who we are

This website is operated by AUEB Students' Investment and Finance Club (AUEB SIFC), a non-political, non-profit student initiative at the Athens University of Economics and Business, 76 Patission Street, Athens 104 34, Greece.

What we collect

We may collect the following personal information:

• Membership applications — name, email, and other details you submit through our Google Form.
• Contact messages — name, email, subject, and message when you use the contact form (sent by email to the club; not stored in a website database).
• Technical data — basic server logs (IP address, browser type, date/time) that hosting providers may keep for security and reliability.
• Cookie preference — a small record of whether you accepted or declined optional analytics cookies.

Why we collect it

• To review membership applications and arrange interviews.
• To reply to enquiries you send us.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.
• If you consent, to understand how the site is used (analytics).

Legal bases under the GDPR: consent (optional cookies / analytics), legitimate interests (running a student club website and answering messages), and steps prior to a membership relationship (applications).

Who processes your data

• Club board members who handle applications and email.
• Google — when you submit the membership Google Form, your answers are processed under Google’s terms and privacy policy.
• Website hosting — for serving the site and optional server logs.
• Analytics providers (for example Google Analytics) — only if you click Yes on our cookie banner.

Cookies

We use:

• Essential — cookie preference storage so we remember your Yes/No choice. The site works without optional cookies.
• Optional analytics — loaded only after you explicitly choose Yes. We do not track you with analytics tools until then.

Fonts are loaded from Bunny Fonts (a privacy-oriented European CDN), not from Google Fonts. We do not use Google Analytics unless you consent and an analytics ID is configured.

You can change your choice anytime via Cookie settings in the footer.

How long we keep data

• Membership applications — kept only as long as needed for recruitment, then deleted or anonymised.
• Email correspondence — kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted from active mailboxes when no longer required.
• Cookie preference — up to 12 months, then we ask again.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

To exercise these rights, email auebsfic@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within a reasonable time.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) at dpa.gr.
